So, the newest development in Finnish feminism is that a feminist book "We Should All Be Feminists" will be given out to Finnish 9th graders at school.
Since our elementary school is funded by tax money - including mine - it doesn't feel like too much to ask that the school should remain completely objective in regards to political topics.
How can feminists still claim to be "the oppressed group" when the government spends tax money on stuff like this? What would it sound like if we had a group of nazis claiming to be oppressed, while "We Should All Be Nazis" books were handed out to kids in school? When your propaganda is being highlighted at school, you lose your victim privilege.
Personally, I nominate "We Should All Watch Boxxy Videos" books to be read at school by all kids, not even in 9th grade, but 1st grade. At least Boxxy represents a positive, likable female image.
Truthfully, though, government funded schools should be done away with entirely. Private schools can spout whatever propaganda they like, left, right, feminist, nazi, whatever, since no one is forced to attend, and the funds are private. It's when my tax money is used to poison kids that I have a problem.
Jesus Christ, I hate this country.
How much do you think people would support the following books:
- "We Should All Be Racist"
- "We Should All Be Misogynist"
- "We Should All Be Capitalist"
- We Should All Love Trump"
- "We Should All Listen to Wham!"

Uhhh...some of the whack-jobs who have influence apparently believe it's being done right now. Or, they apparently believe that there are a bunch of evil dragons living deep underground who are ready to fly through the crust and breathe Nazi-Gas that turns a wide swath of your countryfolk into Neo-Nazis.
I don't blame you at all for being embarrassed. How can you be proud of a government that's making policy with apparent input from an apparent paranoid schizophrenic?
If there's any consolation, Finland does not have the notoriety of Sweden. ...

"Europe has not learned to be multi-sanity. And I think we are going to be part of the throes of this transformation, which must take place. Europe is not going to be the mono-sanity societies they one were in the last century... They are now going into a multi-sanity mode... [and] without that leading role and without that transformation, Europe will not survive."
Down with sanity privilege! Onward to the multi-sanity future!

It is being done right now. It just goes under a different name, like "We Should All Be Feminists".
The same stuff that Hitler spouted has been used in every election since Reagan.
Since we are only taught that nazis are bad, and not why and how Germany became such, we have no ability to see that the same propaganda is being taught in school.
And feminists have always been oppressed, and always will be. Because they are children and never take responsibility for their actions or their happiness.

Have you read the book? And what is your take on feminism, you seemed to be violently opposed to it; I'm wondering why?

No, I haven't read the book.
And my stance on feminism is exactly that: being violently opposed to it.
It's a controversial stance to take, since feminism has convinced the outsiders of the idea that it's for "equality", for "both genders".
First off, "equality", in and of itself, is a toxic ideology, and is not in line with reality. People are different, with different strengths and weaknesses. No amount of social engineering will change that.
Secondly, when feminists talk about "equality for men", they mean stuff like men being allowed to wear dresses. In Finland, we have a mandatory military service for men, which is basically slavery. For men only. Feminists rarely bother to bring that up in here. Not being interested in sexist slavery is kinda weird for a group that claims to support "equality for both genders".
Feminism has driven men and women in competition with each other; because feminism has sold this idea of gender neutrality, the idea that the genders are both the same, to people, the idea that men make more and occupy more well being jobs, such as engineering, is seen as a secret plot by the patriarchy, even though it's simply a result of the genders being different, and men and women having different interests - on average.
My main gripe with feminism is that it's built on lies, from the ground up it's all lies. The two genders are not the same, a woman's euro is not 80 cents, women are not the underdogs in anything, there isn't a secret shadow government called the patriarchy pulling the strings, biology does matter..
For years, feminism has blamed the white, heterosexual male for everything wrong with the world, so is it any wonder that they turn on feminism? You can only beat up a dog for so long, until it starts to bite back.
I also have a personal problem with the fact that feminist groups targeted my late girlfriend, an anorexia survivor who did modeling, for her lack of weight - while being the same people who talked about body positivity and how it's wrong to call people fat, etc. It just goes to show the hypocrisy of these people; it's got nothing to do with "goodness", it's just unattractive women bitter about the fact that no man wants them, and bitter over the fact that they lack the innate power of an average woman, who is attractive - and get the short end of the stick.
Attractive women, on average, don't have a reason to hate the "patriarchy", since a patriarchy actually benefits them because a hard working man will gladly marry them, but of course, the unattractive woman gets no such favors - and feminism offers her a way to vent her hatred.
It's a bitter, ugly movement filled with bitter, ugly people, who on top of everything else are dishonest, and want to do everything in their power to worsen the lives of men.
Women win the custody battles; women don't have to go to war; women don't have to go to the army; women are inherently more valuable than men due to the fact they have a vagina: put a homeless man and a woman on the street and see which one of them gets a place to stay first, given that the woman is of average attractiveness; women get all the attention: more men die of prostate cancer than women die of breast cancer, but which cancer gets all the attention?
And stuff like a woman being more valuable than a man is just a fact of nature and biology and I'm OK with that, it's just that stuff like that is never brought up by feminists. The most oppressed group of people in the west are white, heterosexual males, but feminism claims that we are the oppressors.

Hmm.
Anyway thank you for explaining your position, I can see on a personal level this has really touched you. I'm sorry about your late girlfriend, that sounds tragic and painful.
I would say this though, I have met some very attractive feminists, who simply see feminism as a way to stand up for themselves, so use it passively rather than aggressively.
The genders are different, and I guess your military service recognises that; though I must say it does seem odd that only the men are forced into this. Especially for a small country like Finland, if you look at Israel (different situation I know) women have to do national service as well.
I was going to suggest reading the book, because you might find it's not that offensive after all; however I think you are too close to this; and frankly, I don't live in Finland so my commentary on the matter won't be as accurate as yours; though maybe less bias :-).
Thanks for sharing
