How much is a 2022 Bugatti?

The new Bugatti, which was revealed at a glitzy Geneva Motor Show event on Tuesday, will be called Chiron after one of Louis Chiron’s racing cars. It features a 1,500 horsepower engine that can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 261 miles per hour.

The cost? In U.S. dollars, that would be $3 million just for the car itself (not including taxes or options). All told, customers should expect to pay between $3 million and $5 million for each supercar they purchase.

The Chiron has a 1500-horsepower engine that produces 1500 lb-ft of torque. That makes it 70 percent more powerful than its predecessor, and ten times more powerful than the original Veyron.

The top speed of 288 mph puts it in a class with other super sports cars, like LaFerrari and McLaren P1, though those come nowhere close to matching its 1036 lb-ft of torque. However, Bugatti claims it’s capable of producing up to 1000 horsepower with an upgraded engine;

if true, that would make it faster than Ferrari’s new F12tdf and Porsche 911 GT2 RS. And all that power is controlled by an eight-speed transmission. A seven-speed dual clutch automatic will be available as well.
