But I couldn't find it; rather discouraging. And I'm still struggling to post pictures (and I'm not an internet novice)

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

    Yeah it shows up on my feed.

    When I post I use the editor, not markdown. I click on the little picture icon and add the web address of the pic.

    I also just use Facebook as my image hosting. I upload what I want on FB with an "only me" audience. I guess that is just easiest for me.
