Celebrating father's day

I remember a quote by John Lennon " To the world you may be the one person , but to one person you may be the world" .

Want to dedicate this quote to my dad as:

"To the world you may be one person, but to me you are the whole world ".

Today is the special day for all Nepalese parents, sons and daughters here in Nepal. We are celebrating our traditional fathers' day.  According to the Hindu calendar  today is Kushe Aunsi is a fathers' day festival and is also known as Gokarna Aunsi.

This is a special day set apart for the veneration of one's father. On this auspicious day, sons as well as daughters go home to meet their father and offered delicious foods and gifts. No matter how the son or daughter are busy they visit their fathers and  spend quality time with them.

Many people celebrate this festival by offering prayers to the Shiva shrine at different Hindu temple.

People see videos and photos of their fathers and also visit the temple or other holy places to express respect  and love in memory of their deceased fathers.

The date is different with the international fathers’ day and is based on the Hindu calendar.

It is the one of the special among all Hindu cultural festivals celebrated in Nepal.

My father is far from me and now in my home town so today I went through the photo album and photos of my dad in my mobile and talked with him on phone.
