FOOD FIGHT FRIDAY []ALABAMA BROWNIE AND JAMBALAYA

in fff •  6 years ago

Hey @foodfightfriday chefs. I find myself in Orlando Florida and away from my kitchen again.

I flew in from California yesterday and rode with a friend to Orlando.

This evening we walked a mile over to Universal Studios to have dinner at Bubba Gumps. The menu is not paleo friendly so I had to order a non-paleo dish.

My friend ordered a "Alabama Brownie" that came with a side of vanilla ice cream and a big dollop of whipped cream. She ordered and ate dessert first.

I ordered a dish of Cajun Jambalaya. The rice was cooked with the Jambalaya for a wonderful spicy flavor though out the dish. The Jambalaya had Shrimp, chicken, and andouille sausage. This was one of the best Jambalaya I've eaten. I couldn't finish my dish so I brought it back to hotel for a late night snack.

The cesar salad was a good compliment to the Jambalaya.

I will be back home for next Friday's competition so until then. Bon Appetit

This is my first post on Partiko so I don't know if everything will look ok.

Good Luck

Everything is wonderfully good @paleotwist 😉 all those amazing food photos and your story too.. the dessert really awesome, brownies and ice cream... yaaaayy! I can have 2 slice and the caesar salad is all yours😆

@cicisaja, I had a bite of the brownie and it was so good. That slice of brownie would have filled me up.

Everything looks great @paleotwist! I love making a big pot of spicy jambalaya. I haven’t made it in quite some time… I think it’s incredible that you follow such a healthy diet but don’t get too weird about it if you can’t find paleo options. That’s a really healthy mindset in my opinion. Happy food fight my friend!

Thank you @puravidaville,I love cajun cuisine. My grandchildren in Georgia have been begging for a pot of Jambalaya. I guess I will have to make them some soon.

😋 I’ll be right over with my bowl :)

I look forward to your contender each week, @paleotwist. It’s a pleasure to hang out with you again. I haven’t had a really good jambalaya for probably over a year now—that’s too long. 🤔

I’ve tried the dessert first trick before, I did that for probably a month about 20 years ago—it didn’t work. I always felt like I was missing out on dessert so I started eating it first at restaurants. But then I’d be full and not eat dinner. So I gave up.

It looks like your post worked fine on partiko. I’m just now learning how to comment on it. Your belt didn’t work though. You want to just copy the web address it came from, not copy the image, does that make sense?

Have a great trip, paleotwist!

@dandays, thank you for the tip about the belt. I had no idea how to get it on the post. I just copied and pasted.

Eating dessert first is the motto of the Red Hat Society. We are a society of ladies over 50 having fun and wearing red hats and purple clothing.

Oh nice! I’ve seen ya’all and your red hats many-o-time.

Yummy! That brownie and the jambalaya look delicious. I love Bubba Gump's restaurant. I have been to the one in Miami, FL several times. It is located in a beautiful waterfront mall called Bayside and is directly across the street from the American Airlines Arena which is why usually we go to eat there before attending a Miami Heat basketball game. My favorites are the Shrimp New Orleans and Jenny's catch with Lobster butter sauce. Mmm mmm!

Thank you @cleopatra. I love Bubba Gumps too. This was the first time that I had the jambalaya but it won't be the last. That brownie was amazing, I was surprised at the cake like texture, so good.
