Seems like the future of the FGC may be dark according to Mike Ross due to his departure. The old days were more about community and genuine reaction. Everyone had a passion and enthusiasm for their favorite fighting games, which powered a more competitive edge. Nowadays, it has succumb to the world of eSports: players living under a payroll, the very hobby of playing fighting games have been shut out, and even the old faces still hanging around are throwing away their contributions to the foundation of the FGC for this fame and money lifestyle. The only newcomers that are seen that show up now are "Internet personalities" and players that have never played fighting games and just jumped into because of it's involvement in eSports.
This is where we feel like it's up to us to resurrect the grassroots of the FGC by bringing it to the blockchain. Shinobi: The Ninja's League, our brand, wants to start this movement by hosting online tournaments for fighting games to encourage everyone else to want to start tourneys of their own for the blockchain as well. The tourneys will involve prize money pots in cryptocurrency, and wager matchups know as money matches will involve wagering in crypto. The support for these tourneys organized will come from the very dedicated users of the blockchain themselves. All while keeping the organic scenery and influence of the FGC intact.
If you don't know what fighting games are: you pick a character, fight this other character, beat 'em up, win, repeat until final boss. You can also do cool combos, too. If you don't know what fighting games to start with, here's a list:
- Soulcalibur VI
- Tekken 7
- BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle
- Guilty Gear -xrd- Rev 2
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
That's just to name a few; there's a bunch more to choose from. If you want to join us on this, let us know here or at [email protected]. you can follow us on Minds.
One more thing before we sound off: eSports is NOT part of the FGC.

I liked reading this, I'm not really a fan of fighting games myself but happy to know that there's another gaming community here on Steem blockchain.

Yeah, you can include that if you want. This is just a small list of the games mentioned here. More additions are always welcome.
