Astounding Steemit Stories

Volume 10

November 7th 2017

Pretty small week. You would think that trying to build my vote power back up I would have had a lot of time to search out new Authors/Storytellers. The only problem with that would be I would want to read, then comment, then vote. So it would have defeated trying to rebuild vote power. But I did find a couple of people.

braveheart29

Stories from BraveHeart #1 - Lost and Alone In Las Vegas.
Here is a short preview before her story:

Here is a story about a little dog that has found a place in my heart. Always loyal, always by my side. Hints of fiction and a splattering of truths, Chico is real, he was a rescue dog from Las Vegas, and I do indeed have two other dogs named Carlos and Lucy.

It was a very touching story. I am a sucker for a good lost dog story, and when that dog just happens to be a little Chihuahua, well it pulls on my heart strings. (yes sometimes I do have a heart). And I happen to be a very controlled slave to a Chihuahua, well actually 3 of them.

So give her stories a read, I am sure you will find one maybe two wet eyes during the readings.

ADSactly

A.D.S.A.C.T.L.Y = Autonomous Decentralized Society Acting Cooperatively to Leverage You! - We Have exactly what your looking for when you need it MOST!

Okay, so I really do not know what they are totally about. It is a Discord group, and I have yet to go to Discord, or taken the time to learn about Discord Chat.

They do however have a heck of a lot of short stories from I am guessing their members. @greenrun pointed me in there direction. They not only have a lot of stories, but also some poetry, and helpful post for new steemians. So drop on by their Steemit page, and see what they have to offer, I am sure you will find several short stories worth reading.

I forgot to mention

@pibara (Rob J Meijer) edit contest request. Beta reading contest Ragnarok Conspiracy : Part three; $23.5 SBD in prize money.

Like in the previous installments of this lottery, I am looking for beta reading style feedback on my draft chapters.
This month there are ten prizes to be won:

A $ 1.5 SBD prize for each of the chapters.
A $10.0 SBD prize for part two of Ragnarok Conspiracy as a whole.

I have been trying to help so has @doughtaker, so come and give us and @pibara a hand. And yes he is serious. I did win some in the first round, odds were against me in the second round, but it is still a fun thing to do. By trying, and I do mean trying, I think I am becoming better at edit help, I have like 200,000 miles to go before I am even a half assed editor, but I am trying, and by trying I am learning, You can too. Read and let him know where things were hard to read, that simple.

Edited on 11/9/2017 - added the above.

It may be awhile for the next update. I have a new toy. I broke down and bought a Nikon D7500 Camera.
Here is a picture of our "Loki, Onyx, and Shasta". The images were cropped out, and still pretty good sized pictures. Of course I forgot that cameras have red-eye fixing, when using a flash, but like I said I forgot.

If you have a nicer way of organizing the list above let me know. Using dots to separate and try to keep them somewhat organized as on volume 9, seemed to be a little bit messy. I am not sure I prefer this method either though.

Improvements and or suggestions, feel free to make them in the comments section; and a great big thank you to all the authors out there, for providing me with reading enjoyment.

I also use the comment section to leave post of Authors I find, and the occasional writing contest, or when someone ask for help. And feel free to just leave a general I need to contact you kind of post if you want.

Also story Link's are not spam so feel free to drop a link you find, or your own when you have a new story out. Remember as an Author/Storyteller, you need to let people know you are out there.

Wow, thank you for the recognition!

Quite welcome, I liked Chico's story, a lot. I thought it was great, and then you have other stories for me to read, (haven't gotten to them yet, but looking forward to Charlie's Story), and you are better at tracking the contest and you also support other new writers/storytellers. So of course I added you to the list. Quality is quality, and on a side note, you help with Thomas the cat by resteeming his tail.

Another excellent issue, @bashadow. I may have another author for your expanding circle.
@majorx3thom has written three parts of a character backstory that he calls Apokolipsis. The parts are here.
Apokolipsis pt1
Part 2
Part 3

I could tell a lot of work went into this, and it's worthy of inclusion into the next issue of your Astounding Steemit stories.

Thank you, this is why I do the mag, to bring readers and writers together. Thanks again for the story drop.

You are right about @adsactly, they've got a lot of things coming up in their blog from various contributors.

Awesome Astounding Steemit Stories list @bashadow
Enjoy the new toy ;-)
