Dark clouds cover a night sky over a small village called Dublin. In a small one room house and a young child stares out the only window. His mother sits reading a book by candle light. Thunder crackles as the lightning shoots across the darkened sky. The boy doesn't even budge. His mind wonders else where.
"Mama, tell me about father again."
"Corcus must we again?" she asked closing her book
A strange calm came about when a shadowy figure hastly runs between buildings and houses. Feeling uneasy the mother reaches out and clamps her thumb and index finger on the candles flame, putting it out. Light footsteps run along the roof. In a haste she stands up.
"Come now. Time to get under the floor. Tonight's their season."
"Wonder if father is coming."
"I already told you your father is dead. Now come!" she demanded lifting a floorboard
Turning away from the window a figure leaps through knocking him down. Quickly rushing over to the mother. The figure of a child appears behind her. Pulling a long knife he thrusts it into her stomach.
"GO NOW! RUN TO CID'S!" she plead
Frozen in place Corcus's eyes opened wide watching blood drip off the blade. Repeating again he stabs. Eyes locked into each others Corcus crouched wanting to leap towards him.
"PLEASE SON RUN!" gasping another breath
Taking the blade he runs it across her neck. Smirking every second while blood pours onto the floor. Letting go he drops her into the pool of blood. Hastly moves and in a blink of an eye stands behind Corcus.
"You could've prevented your death boy." he says smiling
"You know nothing. Premitive people hunting people. For what? Pleasure?" Corcus says getting to his feet
Coming down with his knife he calls "For us to know."
Drops of blood drip on Corcus's face. He began to smile as a light feeling overcame him. The knife coming closer and closer. Moments away from death the boy chuckles. A light wind blows as Corcus turned to smoke.
"This is where you failed."
Widening his eyes "What?! What are you?" he says dropping his knife
"Tell your kind we're done being killed like animals."
Leaping through the window he turns around. Throwing a multitude of knives. Only to hit nothing but the wall. Corcus was already gone.
