"The mouse that got lost" by Baby Number 2

in fiction •  7 years ago

Once upon a time there was a mouse. That mouse didn't have a home. So, the mouse lived outside. She needed to look for a home. The little girl mouse went off to find a home. She found a little bit of room in the floorboards of a new barn. There was just a little bit of spider webs already, but she found an old teacup in the yard that she could use. When she saw the teacup she knew she could carry it with her to the barn. She saw it next to a very old tree, and she decided that she could take it with her.

That became her table.

Then she fiound some fat wood chips, a rock, and some sticks. She used some grasses to weave the rock and the stick together. She got some stmall sticks to use as nails. The rock part became a hammer. she hammered the woodchips near the floorboards, and could put food on them and other things as well. She used it as a shelf.

She then went off to find someone to live with who was small enough to live under the floorboards like her. The little mouse found a small hole to get up into the barn. She saw a cat and a duck living in the barn.

The barn was only 7-8 years old. She found a friend. She found the duck and asked that duck, which may not be a duck because it looked like a chick, and she asked that chick if it would like to be her friend, and the chick said "yes"

"What's your name?"

The chick said, "uh, uh" and didn't actually know. She'd have to ask her mother. The chick forgot her own name. So, she went to find her mom, and it turned out that the chick could use the small hole in the floorboards to also get into the little mouse's home. While the mouse was talking to the chick she noticed some glass that could work like a mirror for her. She put it on her shelf. She found a thing that was just a little little rounded and decided she could use that as a bowl. She used it to scoop some water from a nearby river. It was just enough water for the little mouse to drink from.

Day after day she scooped some water into that little bowl. She also used it for food. She would usually get some water after she ate.

One day the chick came back to the barn to visit her mother. So, her mother was very happy to see her little chick. So the chick went back down with the mouse under the floorboards and became best friends with the mouse forever.
