Genre: Fiction
Amy is a college instructor who has to prise her head from the pillow and pull herself out of bed at 5 in the morning to prepare everything before heading to work. She has no one to help her do the household tasks so she has to prepare everything all by herself every single day. The moment she arrives at school, she never forgets to wear her beautiful smile as she comes across her colleagues and students. Her smile is so contagious, and everyone in the university really admires her because of her good personality. Amy is a very talented teacher. She teaches Music and is just so enthralled with everything that has to do with music.
Brimming with cheerfulness and passion, Amy walks into a room full of happy faces. During music lessons, her students are just as bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as she is because of her positive energy, not to mention her golden voice and beautiful smile. She makes everyone happy and seems like she ain’t going through some sort of pain or suffering in her life. Also, she never forgets to wave at everyone around her before she goes home.
And now she’s home.
No one knows the emptiness she feels inside. Her shadow reflects sadness and what she sees are empty, monochromatic walls. And the deafening silence, she hears. Every time she goes home, she tries to bottle up her emotions. No one knows about her problem; everything they know is that she’s a cheerful teacher who seems to have no problem at all. She is a cheerful teacher who’s actually just faking her smiles. She just wants to look happy in front of everyone because she knows exactly how it feels to be miserable. She makes people happy because she knows exactly how it feels to be absolutely wretched.
During her music classes, they sing songs of different genres. When the song is happy, all her pain is concealed. All her suffering is hidden behind her golden voice and beautiful smiles. But when the song is kinda melancholic, her eyes would tell a totally different story. Her eyes can’t hide the sadness and misery that she’s experiencing. Her voice echoes mourning and grief. Her face paints portraits of longing and sorrow.
Nobody dared to ask about her personal life. Whenever she goes home, she feels like something’s missing. She feels incomplete.
A couple of years ago, Amy’s husband and 3-year-old daughter died in a horrible car accident. The car was reportedly swiped by a big truck on the highway. After hearing about the accident, Amy felt very devastated. She even had psychiatric disorders for months since her husband and daughter died. She experienced grief and had difficulty coping after the death of her husband and daughter.
Sad songs remind her of all their shared memories. But now she’s tryna be strong and gets her motivation from her love and passion for music. She reminds us that no matter how difficult life may be, we must keep moving forward amidst adversities in life. Everyone we meet in life has stories to tell. They may look happy outside, but we do not know the pain they are experiencing. We all have different coping mechanisms to overcome life’s challenges.
Your mother is hurting inside.
Your father’s joints are complaining but he looks physically strong.
Your sister is about to break down because of her work but she has to continue working to help your parents send you to school.
Your brother works abroad and misses you so much.
Your friend, the most cheerful person in your group, is depressed. He just doesn’t wanna show it to you.
Every person has sad stories to tell. The least we can do is treat one another with kindness, spread love, and lend a helping hand.
I know you have problems too. Just keep going… everything’s going to be okay 👍☝️
