Common name: The Gaze
Memory length: N/A
Danger rating: High

Description:

V-F787 is a several stories tall giant, having between five and one eyes. The skin might be stony or slimy, and at least one instance has displayed leathery skin. Number of arms rarely varies from the standard two, and number of legs rarely varies from the same number.

As with all F types, V-F787 has a highly variable appearance. Therefore, it should be recognized for the traits it most consistently exhibits, the most noticeable of which being its massive size. Additionally, even compared to other massive beings, it moves very slowly with long, careful strides.

He is not to be confused with similar C types or S types. He does not have the ability to carry even short conversations, nor does it register threats or show any semblance of self preservation. However, V-F787 is durable enough to still pose great danger in battle.

Combat and Abilities:

Beyond raw strength, size, and durability, V-F787 has one extra ability from which it has derived its common name. If anything makes direct eye contact with V-F787, their energy will rapidly drain. For casters, this will very easily trigger severe energy decompression, turning them to stone within minutes if they maintain eye contact for too long. For non-casters, only one or two seconds of eye contact will turn them to stone, killing them almost instantaneously.

If one tries to avoid eye contact with V-F787 by looking anywhere but its eyes, it will simply use its limited shapeshifting to manifest more eyes, increasing the chance its victim will accidentally make eye contact. If it still fails to trick its victim this way, it may simply resort to raw force, which it is more than capable of using to take on even experienced warriors given its size.

For experienced casters, using energy sensing to detect V-F787 without using their physical eyes is a near foolproof way of keeping track of the monster without risking energy drain. More mundane methods also work, such as using mirrors or protective eyewear. The energy drain effect only works when looking directly at V-F787 with the naked eye.

Conclusion:

Do not engage without having access to extreme deadly force and either some alternative method of detection or eye protection. Evasion and escape is a more viable strategy than combat if ill prepared, given its very short memory.
