Piece of the day

The keys were falling like knifes on her back.
Cold blades were sinking in her flesh.
The pain.
The pain was immense.
Unbearable.
Unmanageable.
Completely excruciating.
But sweet.

This sweet decadence made her feel so warm, familiar and somehow twistedly safe.

Every strike on the piano felt like a dagger pointed at her.
Meeting with her white, bare back and softly entering her skin.
The first prick was pinching,
But as the blade fell deeper inside her and met with her boiling blood,
As it sank in her deep red oceans of life,
Scratching nerves and tissues,
Chests of memories and issues,
As she let them go deeper and deeper inside her she felt complete,
As if this pain was all she was breathing for.

Funny thing how some people live for the joys of torment.
Funny thing how some souls take pleasure in torturing themselves
And for her
Sinking in sorrow was her only, true happiness.
Her last resort.
Her getaway.
Her safe, little haven.

And there she was now, sitting on an old wooden dock, with her feet soaking in the sea waters.
All around her peace and serenity, and dark, cloudy skies painting everything grey.
She liked that color.
It was dark and bright at the same time.
Like a black and white photograph
Taken by a photographer so much greater then she ever was.

For a moment she just stood there and wanted nothing more.
For a moment she felt she had everything she ever needed.
Others would think it was strange,
But she...
She felt this was where
She belonged.

When gloomy shadows visit you... when a thought suddenly knocks on your brain's door do you answer? Do you open the door wide and let it in?
How long do you let it stay? Is it a quick coffee, just to catch up on your old news or does it sit around for longer?
Are you the kind of person who closes the door right on their face and never let them get in?
Or are you too scared to even look through the peeping hole? You just ignore them hoping they'll get bored waiting and they'll go away?

I happened to remember this tune today... A favorite piece. For no reason, nothing at all. A tab on my browser playing it on repeat, another tab open with a blank space where I can hit keys one after the other, watch my thoughts taking shapes, becoming images and in through my eyes in your brains turning to words bearing meanings, ideas. Weird creatures, aren't we? Weird...

Not the happiest mood in this post today, rainy weather all weekend and some Tiersen for relaxation are not the real party material. But hey, we all need some rain to appreciate the sun even more.
