On the beach, sitting by the sea and, at hand, with the book of Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Charon was enjoying a splendid and peaceful morning after so many years pulling, from a point to another, the boat on which he transported the souls in the Hades. Or at least he believed that until, by chance, his phone started to ring.
"Damn! I forgot to turn off the phone", he thought, seeing on the screen the name of his boss. "What will I tell him? What will I tell him?"
He decided that the phone would continue ringing while he thought what to say, because he was sure that someone had gone with the gossip of his absence to him. However, it did not take five minutes until the phone rang again.
-H-Hello?
-Where the hell are you? -his boss asked him, visibly angry.
-On the hospital, sir. They're bandaging the foot.
-... What happened?
-Hercules was drunk. With his Sol beer bottle he hit me on the foot; he almost crushed my toes!
-Hercules? Not a while ago I saw at my brother's house announcing his next wedding with his new girlfriend.
-Well, you saw that he is still prone to alcohol, sir.
-I'll talk with my brother to rebuke him. You can take the day off to rest your foot. I'll ask Orpheus to cover you.
-Thank you, sir.
-Be better.

Then, leaning back in the towel he had spread under his parasol, he prepared to take a nap. Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Hades fought long and hard with Hercules; he told him that he had not returned to the Underworld since that time when he stole Cerberus for a few minutes. Hecate, who was present at the office entrance with the other, thought that it had been a very bad idea to cover Charon's escape in exchange for an autograph by Hugh Jackman.
