Don't be too good lest you hurt yourself

If I had known, I wouldn't have let Debby in my home last summer.

She told me she had a problem with her landlord and couldn't get an apartment.

Apartments cost more when you are paying the first time especially for a place like Surulere where everything is premium.

Hotel was a bad idea for a young lady like her so I decided to let her in for 2 months till she would be able to get a place.

Debby had been a friend for 3 years now and I didn't think she could make any evil move. She didn't until she met Tom.

Grandma always told me; "Don't be too nice or you hurt yourself, Don't be too harsh, lest you become cruel."

It dawned on me they were not just mere words.

I caught Debby in bed with Tom on a day I was supposed to be happy the most.

They had anticipated that I would be at work as usual but my boss gave me a day off so I spent less than an hour at work.

Amazingly, they were overwhelmed with the freedom of being together that they couldn't lock the door to the condo.

Sad day, Debby was eating the candy I wanted to eat.

As I made haste to open the door with my key hoping to meet Tom who had just returned from Germany, I heard sounds like that of a lady in pains.

I was moved to know who could be crying in my apartment only to discover that it was my own friend who was moaning under the heavy weight of my boyfriend.
