Hey Steemit, I want to try something new. I wrote a very short story and left a decision to made at the end. I want to hear all the comments on which direction to take which will determine part 2. Let your voice be heard and we can write this story together, sound fun?
You lift your heavy eyelids, exposing your pupils to the bright dawn light radiating from the sunrise creeping over the horizon. You turn your head to avoid the glare through the passenger window, to compose your thoughts and make sense of where you are. The night before is nothing more than a fog which hangs over your steadying consciousness. Taking in your surroundings, you determine that you are the only one in the carriage. The erry emptiness fills your stomach with a sense of dream. Nothing more than the squeal of the large steel wheels against the track echoes in your ears, you feel that you have been asleep for along time but without any recollection of anything more than your first name.
You step out of the comfort of your seat. The train appears to be designed for long distance travel. As you peer out the window, you realise that the landscape is unfamiliar, almost alien in it's appearance. You look at the overhead storage above and discover a backpack, assuming it is yours, you pull it down to inspect it further. You hope by opening the backpack that you are able to gain further insight into your situation. Upon unzipping the backpack, three items are revealed. A hunting knife, a map of an unfamiliar city and an envelope with your name written on the front in handwriting you identify as someone other than yourself.
You open the envelope only to find it filled with 4 photographs of people which you feel that you have never met before, two male and two female. Turning the photographs over, you see they are numbered from 1 to 4 in red ink. Shoving the photographs back into the envelope, you toss the backpack over your back and start heading towards the front of the carriage to find out whether you are indeed alone on this train.
Leaving the comfort of your carriage through the door towards the next car, you feel a dread wash over you. The feeling that you are involved in something that could be potentially dangerous lingers in your mind as you open the door to next carriage. An overwhelming scent infests your nostrils as the door flings open. Your attention is immediately drawn to the floor of the carriage, blood trails down through the carriage, marked by footprints walking towards the way you came. Your heart sinks as your deepest fears are realised. You press on wards, removing the knife from the backpack as your instincts insist that you protect yourself from a present danger.
As you follow the trail, you find a seat which appears to be the origin of the attack. Blood is pooled across the bench and on the floor below. You look above at the overhead luggage and spot a backpack identical to the one you have on. Upon opening this backpack, the contents are exactly the same. You open the envelope of the twin backpack, finding 5 photographs with one key difference. three male, one female. Your stomach drops as you recognise one of the people photographs. You hold photograph up to the window reflecting your own face, a perfect match. Within seconds, the train grinds to a halt. Your body is projected forward causing you to lose balance and fall into the bloody pool on the floor. You then hear the doors open and a message come over the intercom "All passengers alight from the train, we have arrived at our final destination"
YOU NEED TO MAKE A DECISION:
Search the rest of the train for passengers and supplies
Alight from the train and search for shelter
Let me know what you guys think, whether you love the idea and want to see more of this kind of stuff or if it's not your type of thing. I want to know either way.
réal great story I'll make the second decision thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)
