It was going to be another long day. So much has been happening lately and being a very energetic and lively person, Dasilva hated the fact that she was going to be in bed all day again. The doctor said she needed some rest. Like she doesn't know that, but she wasn’t one to sit around doing nothing and today again she was in bed, all alone in the empty house with her eyes cast lazily on the television. All she could hear were music sounds.
Typical of her caregiver, she must have thought music would do her some good but left for Dasilva, all musicians would be broke. She never listened to music. Didn’t even have a single album on her phone. Well, except for her ringtone and that's because she loved Johnny Drille. He probably was the only musician she would ever listen to. There was just something about his lyrics and his delivery. If only he was just as handsome, maybe She would be crushing on him.
A knock on the door jolted her back to reality. She cussed under her breath. She wasn't expecting any visitors and standing up from this bed was the last thing she wanted to do. The knock persisted, the sound becoming louder and louder making her head bang the more. She wished whoever it was would go away but this time around, it didn't seem like her wish would come true. Dasilva covered her ears with the pillow but the knock seemed to be right inside her head. Reluctantly, she grudgingly stood from the bed and walked angrily to the door hoping to find perhaps someone who had lost his or her way. She unbolted the door and before her stood, Jacob! The ever charming Jacob with his mesmerizing smile giving his face that handsome glow that captivates her, causing her to get lost in his presence. Jacob was the last person she thought would be standing before her.
"What a pleasant surprise" she lied, hugging him. She was happy that she was going to have great company for the next few minutes. No doubt but it wasn’t a pleasant surprise because Dasilva knew, with Jacob anything could happen. Jacob held her in a tight embrace, soaking himself in the sweetness of her body scent and letting it encapsulate him as he felt her become a little uncomfortable with the prolonged hug fighting her way out of it, very typical of Dasilva. He reluctantly released her, winking at her as she just stared at him with that familiar look he understood to mean, "Why be naughty?"
"Always smelling good", he complimented still standing at the door. "So what's the problem soft woman?"
"Malaria! And I'm not soft" she replied, stepping out of the way as her way of ushering him in. She locked the door behind him and pointed to the couch. She followed him to the couch as they both sat down smiling sheepishly at each other. It had been a while since she saw him and she hated that he had to see her this way, hair unkempt, no makeup, not even a powder. She hated that she was looking disoriented and shabby and not with the usual seductive appearance he had come to know her with. Dasilva always dressed seductively whenever she knew she would be meeting Jacob. Her game plan had always been a direct and simple one, seduce him and have sex with him. She once had a bet with a friend of hers that if she didn’t get Jacob in-between her legs then she was not the daughter of her mother. Surprisingly, she achieved this within two weeks. Jacob was an easy feat or maybe not. Perhaps he just let himself be conquered by her.
Everyone knew Jacob. The most sort after bachelor in the whole company. He was intelligent and smart, very industrious and knew how to get what he wanted, A master planner!
They called him the alpha male.
Talk about his looks, he wasn’t the usual tall, dark and handsome kinda guy. Yes he was tall but fair in complexion. He was slender but with a good sense of dressing and he sure knew his designers. This wasn’t what made the ladies drool over him. It was his sense of humour and the way he played with words. Jacob was a man you would feel good about sleeping with. Dasilva knew this and she wanted to be first to get him to her bed and she indeed was until she found out he...
Jacob cleared his throat breaking the deafening silence. "Hope you are faithful with your medication?", he asked.
"Do I have a choice?", She replied, rolling her eyes. He held out his hand and she placed hers on it. "You'll be fine, okay?" He said squeezing her hand in his and patting her cheeks with his other free hand. That felt awkward as it ignited something within him. A craving he thought was long buried. He needed to change the topic to lighten the already ignited atmosphere.
"It's been a while I read from you? Why did you stop writing? He asked releasing her hand.
"No inspiration", she shrugged
"Why? He asked trying not to look into her eyes. "Do you still read? I know reading helps"
"Yeah! I do but I really don't know what happened and at what point it got so bad"
He stood up from the couch and paced around the sitting room looking for something. She just watched him wondering what he wanted now. Typical of Jacob, the restless one. He found what he was looking for, it was the remote lying on the centre rug. He held it facing the flat screen television still blasting some tunes from Davido and turned down the volume. Placing the remote back where he found it, he assumed his position on the couch but this time around, sitting dangerously close to her. Dasilva let out a gasp hoping she didn't just betray herself. It was Jacob and Jacob was one guy she couldn’t resist. It may look like she got every thing under control but that is because the last time...
