Mets reliever Jerry Blevins slams 'Field of Dreams' with horrendous takesteemCreated with Sketch.

Sometimes, people just like to be heard so that they can be seen as different than others. We're not sure if New York Mets relief pitcher Jerry Blevins falls into this category. But his take on the all-time great flick Field of Dreams is about as bad as it gets.

"Well, I don't think the movie does a good enough job to call it a father/son movie. I never really care all that much about their relationship," Blevins said, via CBS Sports. "My favorite part of the movie is Moonlight Graham and he gives up his dream to save Ray's daughter from choking. That's true heartbreak for me."
Oh, man. Where in the world did Blevins' heart go?

You can't tell us this scene from the movie doesn't lead you to shed a tear.

"I thought this was a reconciliation movie!? Let Moonlight play! Oh, and the big climax of the movie is when Ray got to play catch with his dad. That part is even ruined for me because Ray says, 'Have a catch.' Maybe it's my mid-western roots, but I've never said anything but 'play catch.' Nobody says 'have a catch' unless they are mocking Field of Dreams.
Now, who the heck is out here mocking Field of Dreams? Give us names. Give us numbers. We'll go knock some sense into them.

Blevins talks about his mid-western roots and he can't understand how magical a baseball stadium in an Iowa cornfield is? Come on, man. Pure blasphemy.

Not a mention of James Earl Jones as Terence Mann with one of the best lines in sports movie history.

Blevins is probably out here panning Ken Burns' Baseball documentary, too. If players could be designated for assignment based on horrible movie takes, Blevins would be the first to go.
