Gunfight In Rupnagar Beribadh

Two suspected muggers were reportedly killed in an gunfight with detective branch (DB) of police in Mirpur area of Dhaka this morning.

Identities of the deceased, aged around 40 and 45, could not be known immediately, police said.

The "gunfight" took place when a team of DB, acting on a tip-off, went to Rupnagar Beribadh area to nab a group of "muggers" around 5:00am, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost.

Two of the "muggers" sustained injuries during the "gunfight". They were taken to DMCH where doctors declared them dead around 7:00am, the police official said.
