Kabul: Taliban release 3 Indian engineers kidnapped last year in exchange for 11 of their fighters

According to the International News Agency, Taliban fighters in Afghanistan released three of the 7 Indian engineers kidnapped a year ago but have also been released in exchange for 11 Taliban prisoners, including Mullah Omar. Two former provincial governors are Sheikh Abdul Rahim and Maulvi Abdul Rashid.

The prisoners were exchanged at US military bases in Baghlan province after US intervention and talks, but no comment has been received by Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the Kabul government and India, but the Taliban's local leadership continued. Some of the photos taken are circulated in which both the governors and the other prisoners can be seen in a warm welcome.
It may be recalled that in the province of Baghlan, Afghanistan, in 2018, Indian engineers working on a power project were kidnapped by Taliban fighters, one of whom somehow managed to escape and reached India. No information was yet available about this.
