Interested in seeing the latest horror film? You should be. A Quiet Place was an absolute pleasure to watch. Featuring John Krasinski as both the director and one of the main characters, the movie starts off tense, and continues that way for whole film. Relying on the atmosphere and sheer dread of the monsters, the movie uses silence as a weapon and leaves jump scares behind. As a result, I wasn't scared or jumping during the movie, but instead tense, and focused the entire time. This is a movie that understands horror isn't jumpscares and loud music. Horror is a feeling that John Krasinski definitely knows how to make. Despite the small amount of dialogue, every last character feels well developed, every single one does what is believable and smart at the time. The characters didn't even have names, but they were people you could believe were real despite this. Even if horror movies aren't your thing, this one is quality. Definitely recommended.
8.95/10, intense and believable, leaves you walking out of the theater still focused on the movie.
