Are we going to see Jason Statham fighting a giant shark or at least hitting the shark? Maybe it will be realized in his latest project entitled The Meg. This title is taken from a nickname for a giant ancient shark called Megalodon, Leaving aside the "possibilities", now Warner Bros. Pictures has released an official prime photo of the movie The Meg (via Empire). This photograph displays the character that Statham sneaks in with his back to a shark that is watching him.

The film, adapted from Steve Alten's novel Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror (1997), was directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, The Sorcerer's Apprentice) with a script written by Dean Georgaris (Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life) and Jon Hoeber & Erich Hoeber (Red). In addition to Statham, the film will also star Li Bingbing (Transformers: Age of Extinction, Forbidden Kingdom), Cliff Curtis (Fear the Walking Dead), Rainn Wilson (The Office, Super), Ruby Rose (xXx: Return of Xander Cage) , Winston Chao (Skiptrace, Kabali), Page Kennedy (TV's Rush Hour), Jessica McNamee (The Vow), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The BFG), Robert Taylor (Focus, Longmire), Sophia Shuya Cai (Somewhere Only We Know) and Masi Oka (Hawaii Five-0, Heroes).

The Meg will tell you about a group of researchers who are trapped in an underwater facility due to the attack of a giant creature. Then an oceanographer (Winston Chao) recruited an expert in underwater diving named Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) to help them, but it was opposed by the daughter of Suyin (Li Bingbing), who eventually got involved in the action.
