Bones and All.

This isn't the easiest movie to review.

I know that the performances are spot on across the board, including an unrecognizable David Gordon Green in a cameo. Mark Rylance showed once again that he's a master of his craft.

The cinematography, just like in Luca Guadagnino's last film, Call Me By Your Name, was almost perfect but for a handful of shots that were out of focus.

To try to be terse, I will say that there's no way that I can recommend this film to everyone. It has a few scenes of gore that will turn a lot of people off. The subject matter is incredibly difficult. Still, that's one of the strengths of the film - there's actually a moral spectrum among cannibals.

I came out of this film with a tepid reaction. I simply felt like I hadn't adequately unpacked what I had just seen.

I can say that about half the people in the theater walked out before the end. That had me scratching my head.
