All the Money in the World (2017) Film Review

So this was the film I heard about where Christopher Plummer was recast in the role that Kevin Spacey was already in, filmed, and it was ready for release. THEN Kevin Spacey was outed.

And Christopher Plummer didn't disappoint.

I think I believe Christopher Plummer as John Paul Getty more than Kevin Spacey. I don't know why, maybe because he sells it better.

When I saw the trailer with Kevin Spacey in it, he came off as a pompous, fictional douche who was deliberately overacting. But Christopher Plummer almost took the opposite road.

I like Charlie Plummer's voiceover in the beginning, before he's kidnapped, I believe. It makes a good point.

Mark Wahlberg's character, J. Fletcher Chase, supposedly was part of the team that took down Mossadegh in 1953. I couldn't find out if it was true or not, and if it happens in real life, doesn't seem that farfetched.

Same with the amount of money in the 60's-70's. Seems about right, when they talk about millions, billions. At/near the top of oil and gas companies, war companies, in countries with resources, etc., there's a LOT of money. More than even I can imagine.

But what's funny is: J. Paul Getty seems to confirm the fact that if there's one thing the elites fear, it's the 99%.

Costumes and score were ok, it was there, didn't add to anything, did what they were supposed to do as devices.

An interviewer for BlackTree TV asked Mark Wahlberg," Do you think this movie will fuel animosity toward the elites?"

Mark Wahlberg gives a non-denial denial, but here's how I'd answer that:

No. It's just bringing a lot public record to the forefront in a movie. Most of this, if not all, is already public record. People are already pissed enough if they're in the 99%, rightfully so. They don't need a movie to make them even more mad.

How would you answer that? Let me know below!

Out of $13.50 USD, this was worth $9.45 USD. It was ok, not the best movie ever, but certainly not the worst movie ever.20180105_120856 (2).jpg
