Last night I attended the 'South to Sian Journals' screening at Deus Ex Machina, Camperdown, Sydney.
It was all the good behind the scenes stories that make you appreciate the film (South to Sian) so much more.
Gahhhh! It was amazing!
This is the kind of quality, feel and style of film I aspire to make one day. The director, Dustin Humphrey, is my new idol and I know I have a sh#! load of work to do before I reach this kind of standard, but boy am I excited!
The moto scenes were my favorite. The colours, textures and composition of every shot and angle blew my mind...you should have seen the grin on my face! It was art in my opinion. The film, not my face haha!
It also reminded me I forgot to add a few things on my 'To Do List'!
Get motorbike licence and motorbike! - I had my licence a few years ago but it expired within a few months because I didn't go for my pre-provisional test. I spent the money I had for a bike on travelling Europe instead #noregrets
Learn to surf - Would you believe both my parents grew up surfing and didn't bother to pass on their skills!? I've paddled out a few times but got too tired to surf back in, haha. Goal for summer!
I highly recommend you check out the film and the Journals! If you love surfing, bikes, travelling, nature, film making, or even art, (it encompasses them all) you'll not want to miss it.

Hey Kate :-) Lovely Start and restart. I'm going to go out on a limb and share something with you.
When I first started, I decided to follow a piece of Steemit advice that I knew worked in the old early days of blogging. And I'm finding it's still works. The more I visit other blogs & comment, the more engagement I have on my blog.
I realize You may already know this bit of advice and just be too busy to apply it, but I wouldn't want to pass by without giving a small smidgen of helpful encouragement.
This movie looks quite thrilling. I can easily imagine you grinning with glee. I have been guilty of watching movies as much to study colors and sets as to see the story.
So much fun!
Hope to see you back to sharing bits of inspiration and whimsy

Hi @marillaanne You're 100% right, Steemit has taken a bit of a back seat (as you can tell from my extremely late reply!) Do you use the app on your phone? I have so many issues with it. I would be on this platform so much more if it didn't require me to get out the computer.
Thanks so much for dropping me a comment... your advise/ encouragement is what I needed to hear :)

I sometimes use eSteem but It's been crashy lately. It goes through ups and downs. You have to log in using your private posting key. You probably have it stashed somewhere but it's in the wallet > permissions area. Be sure you click the "show private key" button on the far right end of the row.
The eSteem editor is nice in that you can save your work and then come back to it. But it's up to you to save your drafts and it may well lose your work if you hit the back button and throw yourself out of the app ... or if something else causes the app to go to the background.
Also, every time you click the add a post option (which is on the home page in the 3 dots but not under your profile) you will be presented with the app editor and it will be filled in with all the info of your previous posted app. It is safe to hit the clear button and start fresh. I'm not sure how I did it ... but I managed to double post one post.
Also, posting from your phone in an Instagram kind of way is possible with Steepshot on the android at least. You won't be able to write or read the post (description) section. All that is available to you is the Title which is like 255 characters and then the comments. I've used it a few times and just went crazy wild posting bits of trivia in the comment section.
The most annoying part of Steepshot is that people using the normal posting methods will have hidden all the delicious scoops of info in the post section. I know. so inconsiderate. So. I never last long in that app.
BUT Here's the thing. It's entirely possible to use the website via your cell phone web browser. The mobile site is fully functional and enjoyable. To get started, you're either looking for a pencil or a "submit a story" link beside your own profile icon.
To upload photos, use the "selecting them" link at the bottom of the Post (description) field /box.
The full line at the bottom of the section says, "Insert images by dragging & dropping, pasting from the clipboard, or by selecting them." That's where the link is. When you click it, it let's you take a photo or select from your gallery.
On the go, it's easiest just to stick to the simple markdown editor view that is first presented. (In other words, Don't click on the Editor link under the Title.)
Yell if you need more info! I'm glad to see you wandering about again :-)
