I haven't had these massive financial opportunities yet. I don't have millions of dollars -- even hundreds of thousands of dollars lying around. I can understand getting an offer from Disney and taking the paycheck.
That said, it seems like dudes like David Lowery, Jon Favreau, and Tim Burton are in a place where they're dealing with diminishing marginal returns. Burton has even said so after Dumbo.
At this point, it seems like these guys should be protecting their legacies. Disney is only getting these guys to make movies by writing massive paychecks in exchange for their artistic integrity.
What profits the man who wins the world at the cost of his soul?
