All the latest Movieland investigate from detectives Dick Japowski and Joey Arizona.

The Many Views of Detective Dick Japowski
Don't Panic a.k.a. Dimensiones Occultas (1988)
When Michael is tricked into using a Ouija board on his birthday a vengeful demon called "Tony" looks to take out all involved.. Awfully entertaining is the best way to describe this dubbed Mexican "Freddy Kruger" with fun make up effects from Screaming mad George who would soon go on to have gloppy fun in Society.

Spider-Man: Far from home (2019)
a.k.a. How Peter Parker Spent His Summer Vacation.
Peter has his heart set on stepping back from the web slinging heroics and getting to know MJ a little better on the school field trip to Europe, but with elemental monsters on the rise and a mysterious new hero on the scene there's not much time for love..
Super fun and breezy with lots of Scooby-Doo levels of schemes going on to keep the viewer on their toes and mind bending set pieces that top even Doctor Strange this is worth seeing in the cinema. Stay after the credits for the ultimate Soap cliffhanger!

The Arizona Case Files
Brightburn (2019)
What if Superman didn't become a hero of the people, but instead grew up to be a supervillain. That's the premise of Brightburn, although without any actual affiliation with DC Comics.
A great premise, but one that seems a little rushed. Brandon is meant to be a 'good' kid, who suddenly turns evil on his twelve birthday. Things escalate quickly, but a slower burn would have done the story justice.

The Arizona Case Files
Final Destination 5 (2011)
Just as the four movies before it someone has a vision right before a major disaster, saving themselves and several others from dying horribly. Unfortunately death ain't happy and picks them all off one by one.
This time around the survivors figure out a way to cheat death, and ties this franchise closer into the original movie. The vision deaths are largely horrific and hilarious, and the post vision deaths either come out of nowhere or through the standard chain reaction, all be it with a few red herrings thrown in .to keep you guessing.

The Arizona Case Files
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins (2000)
Emperor Zurg has a plan to enslave the universe luckily for the universe Buzz Lightyear is on the case.
Bar the CGI Toy Story intro featuring a dubious sounding Woody, this essentially the first three episodes of the TV series edited together as a movie, although this version does also have Tim Allen reprising Buzz, whereas the TV version has Patrick Warburton cast the spaceman extraordinaire.

The Vagrant (1992)
Bill Paxton plays a guy who has it all. New girlfriend, new promotion and new house.
But when a neighborhood vagrant shows up in his life, things start to spiral pretty quickly.
A curious black comedy that I'm surprised doesn't get brought up very often, directed by original Gremlins creator Chris Walas and produced by Mel Brooks. This has old Tex Avery written all over it and is worth a watch if you to miss Bill Paxton.
File under "S" for Suburban Nightmare.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014.jpg

The Arizona Case Files
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)
Four teeny terrapins with kung-fu grip grew-up to be rambunctious reptiles with mean ninja skills and a serious pizza addiction, and when New York is in trouble the heroes four spring into action.
This movie gets a lot of hate. Why do the Turtles look so grotesque? Why does Splinter look so slimey? and what is up with Karai's face? Valid complaints all. But it's also a lot of fun.
I know many of you may disagree, Dick Japowski most certainly will, however this is the fifth time I've watched it now and the love has only increased with time.
