Even though Ram Gopal Varma's films are not working well these days, back in the days he was known for his nail-biting gangster films. After making " Sathya", one of India's best crime flicks, he made its sequel in 2002 "Company". This film made all the critics go crazy over it and was a blockbuster hit. But, after many years, people have forgotten this gem and through this post, I want to make more audience watch this film. Sadly, there aren't any good copies of the film online and the DVD of the film is also not available. Most of the brilliant Indian films face the same problem, after their release, the creators don't give much attention to the preservation of the film which makes it hard for the future generation to get their hands on the film.

This movie is based on the split between Mumbai crime lords Dawood Ibrahim and Chotta Rajan. In the cinematic version, the names are changed to Malik and Chandrakant Nagre. Chandrakath also know as Chandu is recruited by Malik as one of the members of his gang. The gang becomes a big organization with its contacts all over the world. But, after few years a small misunderstanding between Chandu and Malik leads to their split which eventually turns into a war. Chandu makes his own gang and starts to fight Malik's already established gang. The war leads to the murders of hundreds of people who connect with either one of these gangs.

The most interesting thing about the movie is the fact that it doesn't spoon feed the story. It just puts dots and the audience are made to connect the dots, this will keep the audience engaged into the story. Very less number of dialogues are used and the dialogues that are used are very powerful ones. Ram Gopal Varma has a talent for visualizing amazing scenes that looks real. His style is very evident, the use of dutch angles and the use of hand held camera makes it very evident.

"Company" is an ensemble of talented actors, every single actors in the film have done a great job. All of them look very close to the roles they are playing. This a movie that combines the best in all the departments to produce one of the best Indian gangster films. The movie depicts the connection between the mob and politicians, film industries and businessmen. The movie shows how these gangs come to existence in the big cities.

This movie is a must watch for someone who is looking for a great thriller and a gangster film. There is an element of suspense throughout the film. Thanks for reading this, for more post like this follow me.
