Weird, wacky, funny, crazy, fast… That would be the main characteristics of the movie, but it can be described as the mix of the Mortal Kombat video game and the Purge franchise, with a lot of great visual effects, as the director of the movie is an expert in that field. The movie Guns Akimbo also shows us the other (maybe even more interesting) side of the Daniel Radcliffe who has played his role perfectly. The movie will be premiered on February 28.
The story follows an ordinary, or we can say lazy “nobody”, guy Miles, who gets involved in a weird futuristic gladiator-like game where he is fighting to stay alive and at the same time, trying to save his ex-girlfriend. Miles wakes up and finds heavy pistols bolted into his bones that can’t be removed. The “game” is very popular on the dark web and it streams live for viewers.
The director and the writer of the movie is Jason Lei Howden, a well-known visual-effects "guy", but he has also directed and written the movie Deathgasm (2015), which genre is very similar to this movie.
In the main roles are Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter saga, Swiss Army Man (2016), Now You See Me 2 (2016)), Samara Weaving (Ready or Not (2019), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), Mayhem (2017)), Ned Dennehy (TV Series Good Omens (2019), Peaky Blinders (2013-2019), Mandy (2018)), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (2016), Hotel Mumbai (2018), Detective Chinatown 2 (2018)), Mark Rowley (TV Series The Last Kingdom (2017-2018), Macbeth (2018), Battlefield V (2018)) and others.
