filmlovr.com is aiming to be a films social network, where you can create a library of films you love, easily recommend films to friends and view details of over 200,000 films (sourced from TMDB)
One of the core ideas is that recommendations for films are hard. Usually we listen to friends we perceive as having similar tastes based on our time knowing them. Basing a film on our previous viewings alone, often leads to cliched films that rarely inspire us. Many times, the films that stand out as intriguing or shocking or just plain silly are the ones a friend or friends madly tell us about over the phone or in a bar...these are the films we should be discovering!
As the site develops over time, it hopes to become a portal site for not only films, but also other video sites users can attach like YouTube, Vimeo etc, to become a single point of access.
One more addition, and this is really just a test of the platform, is to allow users to link to films on the site in their blogs which would be based on the Steem platform. Having a dedicated correlation between a film site, and film blog site which rewards for quality reviews ensures richer content for all.
Happy discovering
