Wayne's World: for SNL Fans onlysteemCreated with Sketch.

Saturday Night Live has undoubtedly influence TV in a major way. The same cannot be said for it branching out to movie, as is the case for Wayne's World.

Wayne and Garth are making their silver screen debuts, where they keep making their basement show out of Aurora, Illinois. But out of the blue, a big shot producer wants to buy their show and air it out of Chicago. But it comes with a lot of strings...

SNL skits are meant to last only a few minutes and are not meant to be stretch into a movie. Mind you, the fourth-wall breaking formula was an original one and could have been interesting. Sadly, the jokes mostly fall flat and are as juvenile as you would expect, especially when pretty women are involved.

Speaking of which, the actress playing Cassandra is probably the only interesting member of the cast. She does play the charm card, as many other women artists did in hard rock, but she's not overtly sexualized and seems to have a head on her shoulders. But for Wayne and Garth, they are just men babies who refuse to mature.

In short, unless you are old enough to remember Wayne's World SNL skits, skip this movie. You will barely smile at the juvenile humor, and will feel wanting for more with the wall-breaking tropes.

Final rating: 2.5/5 (some points for the good music)
