The name The Faceless Men is from Australian Political jargon and is not to be confused with the Faceless Men from The Game of Thrones.

It was first used in 1963 by Alan Reid a journalist for the conservative Sydney Daily Telegraph when referring to the 36 members of the Australian Labor Party's Federal Conference who were meeting at the Kingston hotel in Canberra to decide the party's election policy in the run up to the 1963 election. Since that time it has been done to death by the Australian liberal party every time the were slipping in the polls.

It was last trotted out by Joe hockey and Tony Abbot in 2011 which was when I decided that it would make an excellent Twitter handle if only because it is so catchy, haven't we all felt at one point in time that our lives are being run by Faceless men who seem intent on running this world into the ground for profit and the political power it brings.

Rather then drone on about myself just take a look at my website pretty well says who I am
