Will Janet Yellen the Federal Reserve Chairman raise rates in June? What do you think?

There are serious impediments for raising rates in June?

  • Brexit (United Kingdom leaving the EU)
  • Revenue and Profits down from the peak in 2015
  • Stock market down from 2015 highs?
  • 0.8% GDP in Q1 of 2016

Factors that make for raising rates

  • Strong job market
  • Strong housing market

What do you think?

Personally I believe we will get to 0.75% to 1.00% by next year in the United States. Federal Reserve Chairwoman Yellen should have raised years ago.

I predict the Fed will raise in June, and possibly wait till after the election before raising again. Stock market looking bullish for now.

I agree with you, it looks like the stock market wont take a major dive from raising rates a little. But a 5% - 10% temporary drop may happen from the rate rise.

With the disaster of Q.E. She is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Raising rates will spell disaster but all that extra money that has been being fed into the system to prop up the economy has created an inflation bubble that is likely to pop soon.

I don't think the Fed will raise rates in June.

I think the upcoming Brexit vote and elections later this year make it highly unlikely we'll see anything before year-end.
