Finish the Story Week 65 Winners!

Hoist the colours, proud fiction writers and assorted oddities of the Realms!

Beneath the ephemeral colour of this placid river, that of thousand fragments of untold stories, things that live forever dance with those that are forever lost. But there are things that, right when you turn your gaze, the river stealthily returns, laying them down on the silty shore, under the dull November sun.

And so it was that, after two long months, the Bananafish unexpectedly returned on these shores the results of the 65th edition, like a votive statue whose forgotten grace still shines through the muddy embrace of the waters.

Poetic licenses apart, here I am: a Steemit relic bringing this post, another relic, to your eyes. The bright side of this unreal anomaly - the postponing of the results for more than one month and a half - is that I had time to review your submissions with a lot of attention, my dear oddities of the Bananafish Realms.

Briefly, the parameters for the contest, as previously underlined in several occasions, are the following: originality of the content / formal elements: writing style and lexicon, style consistency & homogeneity, fluency of the text / we also look for a story from the perspective of a collaborative writing exercise, hence the participant's half of the story has to give continuity and coherence with the prompt / respect of the 500 words limit, to be seen as a push to focus on the content and a way to eliminate unnecessary frills (“To write is human, to edit is divine.” - S. King).

Having said this, let me add that I'm incredibly happy that @oivas decided to keep the glorious tradition of this contest going on! Being the founder of this contest and not being able anymore to focus on it like before for off-line reasons, what he did means really a lot to me: we can keep enjoying and make this community prosper with a little help from everyone! Also, congrats to @oivas and @sarez for their @curie votes (the big ones) and to calluna for her @c-squared curation vote. This community keeps being blessed by the support of @curie curators, the amazing team of @c-squared and, last but not least, those cool dudes at @crowdmind / @crowdwitness (always remember to sustain every one of the abovementioned by using your witness free slots).

And now, without further ado...

The Winners

GRAND PRIZE - 10 STEEM & 1000 SNAX tokens: @gwilberiol!
From his own words: "Fourth wall tricks are often cheap but not necessarily boring. I wanted to experiment with the deliberate change in perspective and a partially self-aware character offered a good effect/words ratio. "
An interesting insight from which emerges all the creativity and ability to catch the reader off guard of this author.

SECOND PRIZE - 6 STEEM & 600 SNAX tokens: @oivas!
The choice of the epic lexicon gives a taste of Milton's Paradise Lost to his entry. Oivas keeps shining for his sharp narrative ideas, the credibility and effectiveness of the dialogues, and the worlds that he's capable to create in such little space.

THIRD PLACE - 4 STEEM & 400 SNAX tokens: calluna (second entry)!
"You couldn’t possess me, you can’t possess them.” Such a clever and original idea.

FOURTH PLACE - 2 STEEM & 200 SNAX tokens: @sarez!
A classic interpretation where fate's dreadful plot slowly emerges from the appearances. Riveting and with a Terry Brooks' taste, if I may add.

POPULAR VOTE: @gaby-crb! who wins 14 @steembasicincome shares with her cunning interpretation of a Sedra only apparently weak.

I'm so glad you got the results out. Every author deserves the award. As for my comment--I really like @tristancarax. It's a pleasure to give him feedback, whatever that is worth. Thank you for the acknowledgment :)

I'd like to add that FTS is important to the Steemit community. It offers opportunity to people, not only to create, but to earn rewards. When I think of Steemit, I don't think of corporate. I think of the people who belong to the separate communities. That is important.
Happy you are continuing with FTS.

I wish I could think of Steemit like that too dear @agmoore. A place made with creativity, passion and free from greed.. Thanks for your always meaningful words and support! f3n

Well, I have a few seasons under the belt. The talent for selectively acknowledging elements in my environment is well-developed. Steemit is important to a lot of people. I care about those people very much.

Keep up the good work and know that even if you help one person, you've done a great thing :))
