Possible replacement for the M16 for our troops.

Here is a new idea for a battle rifle that was built in a Colorado garage. It has some nice features, and a very different design.

The only thing I would change, is I would add heat sinks to both sides of the bores. The rate of fire is crazy, as you can Not feed that beast! The six mm size is a step in the right direction, as we have a military bullet that is entirely too small for warfare!

I don't know if this was the guy I saw on YouTube, where he was shooting aluminum cans with a prototype, same exact mechanism it seems though but not that powerful, even though it was probably enough to penetrate through skin and an inch of tissue.

Something to consider no doubt.

An amendum to what I said,

I remember reading or watching something where it said that a sphere with angular motion travels faster and farther under the same force as a sphere without angular motion, which basically means that if the bullets are spun extremely fast by a magnetic gradient, which can pretty much be printed\impressed onto all kinds of ferrous metals, that would create quite a powerful weapon without the need for a large barrel\bore.

Nice, this is a rail gun. The recharge time for the caps will govern the rate of fire. he is getting a good velocity for a home made rail gun. These (with enough power) can be nasty! I saw a demo of one that fired a plastic pellet through a steel plate. these will become main battery weapons on ships and tanks, as the technology matures and our portable power sources gain capacity.

It will not be boring for sure!

But this new unit uses conventional 6mm ammunition fired electrically. It allows this weapon to fire very quickly. They claim 250 rounds per second, BUT It must be 250 Rounds per minute; because the casings must be handled in groups of four! This would mean that four rounds could be moved, fired, and ejected in 0.016 seconds. This is not reasonable, so I am sure that this is supposed to be per minute!

:)

I have seen this before, and it is a Nasty weapon! The rate of fire is amazing too.

This one is under test as a shoulder fired infantry weapon, and it shows some real promise. With the magazine feed, it is a lot slower, but can be reloaded quickly. I would like to see it in 6.5mm or more, to correct the too small round we have been stuck with for decades.

I do think the barrel block that contains the quad bore, needs heat sinking to retain accuracy during sustained fire use. Those two changes would make a near perfect battle rifle, IMHO.

If they could figure out case-less rounds, it would be a true quality rifle!

:)

ha! sir smithlabs..that thing looks amazing, I looked at that site, there isn't a video on there that I missed is there? wow and the army is already looking at it and has ordered a prototype, wow.

It could change man carried firearms. Especially if there were one lower barrel, fed from below in 308. Engage and fight in volume from the top mechanism, Snipe from the 308 bottom section.

I am just glad that the military is looking outside the 223 trap, to increase our soldiers chances!

:)

sir smithlabs! is this something you would be able to make? It sounds really complex!
how many comments are you able to do? did the rc increase?
this new update says everything is all fixed!

Yes, I could build it, but I would need to use firing pins, since I would not be able to get their ammunition, for the electrical firing. But I could fire them with a solenoid, for similar function.

There was an increase in my RC, but I do not know why. I am using it.

:)

yay! well something was not right at all in your account so maybe it's still adjusting things.

@hebrewhousewife sent me some steem power! It was very nice of her, and I will use every RC it gives me, to reply to those that are kind enough to comment on my posts.

I am beating it down, but have not run out yet!

:)

yeah it seems to go very fast so I'm not sure about this new system at all, but that is super cool about her doing that? were you talking to her about your account? man I wish I had alot of that, there are several people I'd help out.

Yes, it is hard to help when you are pond scum, ROFLOL! BUT, If I keep posting, maybe I can get to a helpful point! She is just nice people, and moved some voting power. I could not even tank her until the extra hit.

This was a Badly executed change for sure!
