The emergency helpline numbers of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters in Dhaka’s Kazi Alauddin Road have been out of order since early morning.
None can reach to the five landline numbers of the control room for any emergency news since 5:00am, Mahfuz Riben, duty officer at the fire service headquarters told The Daily Star over mobile phone.
“Authorities have been informed about the serious matter,” he said adding “We are trying to fix the numbers”.
More landline numbers around this area have also gone out of service since morning, the duty officer added.
