‘They are children, what do they care about?’
This is what all the great men of the world were saying before taking seriously the children who took to the streets holding the flag of environmental protection and standing on the sidewalks. Not too old, just like last year. The children, who had just come out, started thinking independently. Trying to change the situation around us. The anonymous fear that arises while drawing a picture of the future makes me ask about the past. Ivalya raised her heel, stiffened her neck, and began to move the platform of international conferences with a loud voice.
It all started with a Swedish girl holding a dam in front of Parliament without going to school. In Sweden, it is illegal to drop a school. Schooling is the highest right of the children there. By violating her own rights, this girl was telling the old generation by calling for civil disobedience against the system that has been going on for years. Because you are the one who has forced us to come out of our school and leave our pleasures. Where a balanced environment and the protection of the earth are not guaranteed, it is not acceptable for us to turn a blind eye to the coming destructive future by continuing to learn that it is only for sustenance and to contribute to the development of the earth. How did you dare to play with the future of those seven generations, driving the development of a capitalist mentality that is struggling to accumulate so much wealth that the next seven generations will sit and eat?
"How dare you?"
This is the story of 1.4 billion angry boys and girls starting from a great one. These children ask parents questions, asking relevant answers. They do not accept the promise of hollow words. They think that political leaders do not strive for environmental protection as much as they talk. They believe that rising carbon emissions and pollution, global warming, and climate change will wreak havoc on the world. It really is. Their fears of an outbreak in 2019, the year with the highest temperature ever recorded, are not unfounded. That is reasonable, since global warming, which has been taking place at a normal rate since the beginning of the earth, is accelerating at an alarming rate. Many species are threatened with extinction due to human intervention, while many have become extinct.
In May 2020, the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was at the most dangerous level, 416 ppm (parts per million). Ridhima Pandey, 11, of Haridwar, who was horrified by the frequent floods caused by the river Ganga, had sought the approval of the National Green Arbitration in 2017. In it, the Indian government is not taking enough steps to prevent the effects of climate change. He had said that he should listen to scientists and researchers and order action. But her statement was not accepted. As a result, she had to appeal to the Supreme Court. It is unforgivable to turn a blind eye to all these things, but even more unforgivable is to assume that human beings live in this situation. To take into account the sensitive elements of the society.
Many villages have been submerged due to rising sea levels and continuous cyclones and floods. Many families have become homeless. The grass was taken away from the hands of the tribals who lived a completely natural life, their settlements were devastated. The small Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean are at risk of flooding. The tribal people, women, and children, have been badly affected. It takes a long time for those who are deprived of secondary rights, less property, and financial well-being to recover. Countries like Britain passed a resolution declaring a climate change emergency. But still, in developed countries, there is a huge difference between the resolution on paper and the actual action. Developing countries stay away! In a developing country with a huge population like India, where the people are deprived of basic amenities, these issues are not even discussed. Where the first goal is to lift people out of poverty through massive industrial progress, who will tie a bell around a cat's neck?
Climate change disasters have taken away the livelihoods and habitats of the tribals living on the coasts of the equator and the surrounding islands. Eighty-three percent of the thousands of families displaced by Hurricane Katrina have not been able to see their children for two years. Many lost their jobs, two-thirds of them women. Thousands became homeless. The figures are not intended to exclude men or the majority of the population, but rather to highlight the plight of those whose development has been underestimated. Perhaps this is why the edge of these climate change awareness movements has become so intense in the eyes of the locals, the underprivileged, children, and women, that it is not for anyone else. Melati Vijsen, an 18-year-old girl of Indonesian-Dutch descent, founded the Bye Bye Plastic Bags organization to ban plastics in her country. Artemisa xakriaba, a 19-year-old Brazilian activist, died in Minas when she was seven.

Women in key government positions tend to be positive and sensitive to environmentally friendly policies. Adolescent girls who are taking steps towards becoming the women of tomorrow are seen leading these movements everywhere. One of the many challenges they face at a young age is an insecure future. For them, knowing about climate change and the disasters that come with it is as easy as knowing about Beyonc a very popular singer. New technology and advanced science have presented them with an inclusive scientific approach, which can no longer be separated from their existence. While the whole world is leaning towards a hedonistic lifestyle, these girls strive to make their lifestyle more environmentally friendly. Behaviors teach other children lessons, create new interpretations of development. They have directly divided the society into two groups, eco-friendly and anti-environmental. He is accused of being a victim of factional politics. But no one can ignore their rumbling.
The trend of development, which is basically dependent on the advancement of technology, is so fast that we are all being pushed towards an uncertain future. Villages are being displaced, cities are being built in their place. Money, resources, the judiciary, the media, and most importantly, the groups that wield power, in order to bring about this change, have to develop better but uncontrolled development, even if nature and the environment are destroyed. The general public is not interested in understanding which way this development is going, because they are faced with issues that seem relatively important to them, such as livelihoods and living standards. We have become so accustomed to this dream of development that if we want to protect the environment beyond it, many insecurities come to our notice. This dream is given a more cute name because it is sustainable development. But what if this development is based on the future of the next generation? This is where the conflict between the two generations erupts. That spark is named Greta Thunberg.
Corona took two steps back in so-called development when a two-week global virtual climate conference of 350 young people was convened. Efforts are underway to accelerate the environmental movement in developing countries. The situation caused by the ‘Corona’ outbreak could be a small colorful rehearsal of the impending catastrophe caused by climate change. The possibility of the spread of infectious diseases cannot be ruled out if the surface temperature rises. Therefore, if this serious issue is conveniently ignored, the possibility of raising many such comrades in the future cannot be ruled out. The future of the earth will be secure only if we try to get closer to nature while the situation is reversing due to the declining economy, collapsed transport system, and starvation of millions of people.
More efforts will have to be made to get the deprived and vulnerable elements out of the grip of violence, mental illness, and inequality. We have to focus on these girls who have become the face of various movements. Therefore ..
We have to take into account the views of these children...
