7 days on Steemit

in firstweek •  7 years ago

Well within the next few hours I will have completed my first full week on steemit, and I must admit I have been thoroughly impressed by it.

The sense on community and comradery has been second to none. I have met some amazing people on the platform and starting to build some nee friendships. I only apologise that i am not able to support you as much as i would like, i have been suffering from the dreaded low steam power on top of my weak voting power, but believe me when i say i will make it up to you guys in time!!

Well lets see I would say the highlight of the week was obviously winning the daily comments post with @brandonfrye and If you are not following him I suggest you leap on over and follow him now!! That gave me a well needed boost to my steem power and forever grateful.

As i mentioned before the spirit of camradery is evident and I am amzed by the support of some key individuals @lukestokes, you’re such an ispiration and if more people had the sense of support and community that you have for here, then the platform will go from strength to strength I was discussing this with @jongolson yesterday that there is so much more intrinsic value in the platform than the monetary rewards, whilst it’s nice dont get me wrong there is so mich more. Like the amzing chat i had with @valth with the african dwarf crocodiles...... now that certainly wasn’t anything i thought i’d be talking about on it here, but it has opened the door to a new connection as @jongolson mentions we should make an endeavour to have the 5-50-500 rule as part of our actions here. See his post on it.

It’s well worth the read.

I would like to say thanks to @penguinpablo and his amazing daily updates on the steemit platform as well as @tradewonk for his all round cryptoanalysis as well as @dragosroua.

I am enjoying the posts although i dont always follow them from @datatreemap but i will get there eventually, and last but not least my camel friendly @alketcecaj, we have had many good conversations over the week, and long may there be more!! I think one of the disappointments of the week was watching @themarkymark playing live on shadows of mordor on dlive, however it was nothing to do with @themarkymark, I was more disappointed with the developers of the game didnt do something a littlw better the the amount of blood produced when he was killing all those orcs, but certainly was fun watching.

All of these guys are great ambassadors for the platform and are well worth the votes to be your witnesses here. If you haven’t touched base with them I thoroughly recommend it. They know their stuff and a great and lending a hand.
Lets hope for many more weeks the same.

Never apologize for low steem! It's about the support and connection!

And laughter. Lots and lots of laughter hehehhee

I know, but it is nice to reciprocate i suppose thats one of the down sides of being a minnow 🐠🐟🐬🐳🐋

But even my upvote doesnt have much effect on reputation either. Its a work in progress but like you say its the connecting and netwroking and the laughs along the way which are really important.

It will. It just takes time... I think being interactive helps a lot.

I went from reputation 25 to 54 in 3 months? And I only wrote maybe 20 posts? But I interacted a lot.
I didn't do it to use some formula...I did it cuz I had fun lolol and now I guess people are finding that it's critical to interact a lot. (Or buy a ton of steem hahahaa or be friends with a whale!)

But I was in a discord conversation yesterday and someone had a really good perspective... We ARE the future dolphins (eventually) so if we have strong connections to other minnows now... And we all "graduate" together... What a sweet group that will be! Then we have the fun, the friendship AND the funds. Ha! So.. as long as steem still stays a viable platform... It's just a long investment.

But I honestly see it as.. if it all fails, I have only gained. This encourages me to write in a way that no other platform has. This allows for engagement in a way that no other platform has. We connect here in a more meaningful way ( my opinion!) in a way that no other platform provides.

So how is that ever a bad thing lol

Don't get me wrong... The financial prospect is definitely alluring!!!! I just don't necessarily know if it will ever be something that I can tangibly benefit from lol

Maybe I need to plan to do something fun with a little steem at a certain point. Like.... If I reach X, then I will take 25% of it and take my family someplace special! Hmmmmm yeah I'll have to start thinking of that hehehe

Yes i agree completely we need to plan a minnow supprt group.

or we can just keep talking in here making the comment section ridiculously long and then attract minnows in our comment support group. lol

True.....
Do you have any maggots???
I found them good for catching minnows in my younger years 🎣
