Snakeheads are now frequently found in the Blackwater river system, and are a target of many anglers in the area. Bald eagles are now taking advantage of this abundant food item as well. Just this week this eagle was seen flying across Wildlife Drive with a snakehead in its talons. Thanks to refuge volunteer Beverly Middleton for sharing her image!
