I find many fisherman make rookie mistakes ALL the time, even pros. And I thought I would share ways to limit these mistakes ;)
1- I know fishing can be exciting...
But you have to calm your nerves. A lot of times when we are over excited when fishing, we tend to do things irrationally and make mistakes that can cost you a fish of your lifetime. The key is to be calm and understand what you are doing.
2- After catching fish...
Don't be hesistant to re tie your line to your lure/rig. After catching a fish, it is possible the line above the lure can be knicked or damaged. So take the extra time to re-tie your lures or rigs. Especially after fighting a fish, your line near your lure or rig can be weakened and if you re fish with it, it may result in loss of the fish.
3- Don't be affraid totry whacky tecniques.
Sometimes, some of the wierdest rigs or hook combinations can catch fish when all of the other stuff don't. Use your imagination.
4-improvise
a lot of time we dont always have what we need when we are fishing. a lot of times we have to find the stuff we need by improvising...so dont hold back your imagination
Ohhh it's really scaring!!
