Fishing Report

Hi Friends,

While out at the Colorado River last weekend, I got the chance to do a little fishing, so I wanted to give a fishing report.

The main thing I wanted to do was fish for striped bass in the river. I spent one morning out on the river soaking anchovies in a couple locations, but got no bites. The striped bass come up from Lake Havasu, and it was still slightly early for them to be in my part of the river, but I was hopeful - too soon this time, but next time they should be there.

I took the kids to one of the local ponds in the community and we fished for bass for a little bit. It was pretty hot, so we kept it short and only managed one small bass in 15 minutes. Here are a couple of pics:

I also did a little bass fishing on the river, and caught one good largemouth and one good smallmouth in 30 minutes of fishing. I was dumb and did not have my phone with me, so no pics of those two catches.

Overall, the fishing was fair. Still too early for the striped bass, but the largemouth and smallmouth were biting in my short fishing sessions for them.
