At the start of every seasonal TOKS Contest there is no telling which country will produce the next World Big Four Winner. While there was an ongoing battle between U.S. anglers Christina Lutek, Marc Jackson and Rob Nappi, it wasn't until later the Czech Republic made a serious push that would ultimately secure their position atop the World Region leaderboard.
Once the Czech anglers took the lead there was no looking back, and that's when it became a showdown between Jakub Jandous and fellow countryman, Vlastimil Kolacek. When Jakub submitted a string of four common carp weighing 30+ lbs / 13.6078+ kgs, that's when it started to look as if Jakub may possibly end up winning the World Big Four Title. But that would soon change.
With still a few weeks remaining in the 2016 Summer TOKS Contest and only a single fish to show for, this is when Vlastimil Kolacek made his move. What seemed to be one big mirror submitted each final passing week, Vlastimil would gradually inch closer and closer, to then ultimately surpass Jakub Jandous for the World Big Four spot with his final fish submitted weighing an incredible 44.09 lbs / 20.26 kgs. This last fish submitted proved to be the "knock-out blow" that would seel the victory for Vlastimil Kolocek; amassing four big mirrors weighing a combined total of 167.11 lbs / 76.22 kgs.
CongratulationsVlastimil Kolocek of the Czech Republic on a spectacular performance!! We all were extremely impressed with your slow and methodical approach as well as the gorgeous mirror carp you submitted. We look forward to seeing you defend your title in the next seasonal TOKS Contest starting September 1, 2016. CONGRATULATIONS!!
