Today i will demonstrate how to setup a standard trace for Kob.
This is also a general trace that could be used for almost any fishing expedition, and i have targeted a selection of species with this specific trace, i am going to demonstrate only the basics and what the end result should look like.
Lets get started!
Tackle used in this article.
• NO7. Circle hook
• 0.90mm/40kg leader mono filament
• 2x 7/0 large 2-way barrel swivels
• 6.0oz Grapnel/Claw sinker
First step start by fastening you're No7. Circle hook to the tip of you're leader as seen below, only use Palomar knots as seen in my previous post here is the link
https://steemit.com/fishing/@knoxman/how-to-tie-a-palomar-knot
Next attach a 7/0 barrel swivel to the tip of the hook line as seen in image below.
(notice I am using a very short hook-line just for tutorial purposes, I usually use a 400mm to 600mm hook-line)
The following image is only a trace layout for demonstration.
Finally slide the hook-trace swivel onto the main line running to the fishing rod. Attach the main line from the fishing rod to the fixed swivel (as seen below) and attach the 6.0oz sinker onto the other end of the fixed swivel
There you have its simple yet effective, the bait should drift smoothly and naturally in the water attracting any fish in the vicinity.
I would recommend a Chokka/squid bait, this is deadly bait for Kob/Daga-Salmon, also in general most of the game fish will not pass a well presented Chokka bait as seen below.
