Today i will be demonstrating how to tie a Palomar knot.

The Palomar knot is one of the most simple yet most effective fishing knots, and can be used for fishing from bass all the way up to sharks or other game fish.
Lets get started.

Tackle used in this demonstration

• No7 circle hook
• 0.90mm/40kg leader mono filament

Firstly start by folding the tip of you're leader double as seen below

Next insert the leader through the eye of the hook as seen below

The following step is a bit tricky, fold a standard loop and insert tip of folded line through the hole see image below

Next insert the tip of the hook over the folded tip of the leader line as seen below

The final step is pull and tighten the knot as much as possible, ensure that no line is on the shaft of the hook see below

There you have it really easy to use and very universal for almost all forms of fishing.
This is just the basic version of the Palomar knot there are a few ways to increase the knot strength for those large game fish.
But for general fishing purposes this knot should be fine.

Hope to see some big catches from all my fellow anglers on steemit.

Tight lines.
