Legally being able to catch bedding bass in the State of New Jersey is a blessing. My favorite way to catch them is using a Drop Shot Rig using a Texas Rig hook. In this video, I am using a PowerTeam Lures JP Hammer Shad 4.8" and a 4.5" Conviction Craw. If you have never tried drop shot fishing for Largemouth Bass on their beds, you should give it a try! It is very effective and you can keep the lure on the strike zone long and impart a lot of motion on the lure.
Disclaimer: Please ensure you can fish for bedding bass during spawning season. Most states prohibit the harvest of bass while they are spawning. This is the case in the state of NJ. with that said, all fishes were released back quickly as possible so they can continue doing their business. In addition, don't do it too much and selectively choose spots to fish bass off beds so you do not impact the fish population of a specific body of water. I never fish for bedding bass in places where others would harvest fish to eat or if they hold tournaments.
Enjoy the video and tight lines!
