King Mackerel Catch of the St. Petersburg Reef

in fishing •  7 years ago  (edited)

We were allowed to keep 2 each per person fishing. These awesome kingfish aka King Mackerel were really tough to catch.
My first ever fishing trip was a great experience and overwhelming success.
This was a trip courtesy of Black Dagger Military Hunt Club.

Nice catch!! Looks like you hooked up! I'm actually not a fan of eating Mackeral cause its really oily and doesn't have a good flavor in my opinion. But I like to catch them and then take 'em up to the lake by my house chop 'em up and use 'em for bait to catch nice big Catfish. The catfish LOVE the Mackeral, and I like the flavor of the Catfish! fish.pngimages.duckduckgo.png

Wow those fish are big!
What do you plan to do with your catch? I am sure you are excited.

These fish were so big, I traded one of mine for another fish that someone on the pier was having fileted. The captain of the boat made me three bags of Mackerel steaks. First fish my son every really liked.
