When I discovered those two awesome musicians on the streets of Vienna the other day, I couldn't stop thinking of my new post for steemit, wanted to play that song " Strassenmusikant" those sweet guys performed and use it to start a discussion, if we should pay for whale votes in our community?
I have to admit that I am paying for getting votes theses days. It feels kind of weird to me but officially wanted to say thank you to those who boost my articles a little bit. I am thankful!

Good question! Now increasingly I find discussions on this topic. With the advent of these amps-whales, I also began to use their services. I paid. I thought that maybe this way can help herself. Because my posts gained a few cents, or, in the best cases, it's 1-2 $. And with their help, the cost came to$ 10. Basically I came across judgmental comments on this issue. If the value of my content is low, my posts are not interesting and boring....what am I supposed to get more? My photos are Amateur shot. I'm not a professional photographer. For that I give voice? And what do I think about myself here? I don't even speak the language at a normal level. Come down from heaven to earth! I said to myself. I objectively evaluate yourself. Let's say that all it is! I have many questions in my head. I read and viewed many posts here on the platform. And how is it that people are posting even just a photo without a comment, get a lot more votes? Or the post that was copied from Wikipedia (or other information resource) , gets 30-40$ ? I can't decipher this strange secret. I love Your posts and try not to miss. But I see that their value is also too small. Or I do not understand anything?! I feel very uncomfortable. As if all these negative comments are to me personally. And so I turned off automatic vote for their posts. And yet, I'm not paying for the amplifiers of the whales.
I have no right to judge others: to pay or not - let everyone decide for himself. We are all here now trying to figure out what is good and what is bad for our community. Right now, in my opinion, is formed unwritten Code of Honor for Steemit. I think time will show us what and who is good.
My 100% vote = 0,14$ today. I spent almost all. It is a pity that I can not vote for many, as always. What now? I came to the conclusion that my posts are again 0, 20 $. Where to start - and back! And I said - well, that's all! Enough on this. Probably it is necessary to be able to admit defeat. Yesterday I had a little date - 6 months since writing the first post. My husband gave me a new laptop for the occasion.He asked about Steemit. Seeing my sad face, he said that even for those 5-10 people who come to my blog daily, I have no right to stop.

I am so sorry that I overlooked your comment but due to a very annoying nerve infection on my right arm I am feeling "disarmed" of writing more but somehow it might be time to take a little off the Internet holiday 😜 You are not the only one who feels like that and at this point I am confused about the present dynamic. Usually I would say :Steem on but I rather say : take it easy and do what you feel is best for your followers and the survival of steemit with the concept to produce quality content.
I am so sorry that I miss so many good posts from you and many others I truly value.

I never liked the idea of buying votes. I abstain from any polarizing posts about the topic because I caused enough political turmoil for now.
I also saw many of my favorite authors using randomwhale, so I thought there is maybe a bigger reasoning behind it, but as far as I can see it just paying for votes, which is a very unhealthy system for Steemit in my opinion.
Do you have a reason for using the boosters, other than "I would go under if I do not do it - everybody does it"? This is not meant to bash you, I am genuinely curious.

I did not mean to implicate that you do not give any thought to your actions. This post of yours is already proving the opposite ;). I meant that the shift from earning votes to paying for votes might very tough on people who decide to not pay for it. So there might be some indirect pressure for you to use the randomwhale system as well.
I am not very informed about the topic, I just feel it undermines the thing that a vote is actually meant too represent, but that might also just be my bias towards "pay to win", maybe Steemit is more complex than browsergames ;).

Klar, ich freue mich darüber, wenn jemand so einen Bot dafür bezahlt, dass er bei mir votet aber ich empfinde es nicht als ehrenhaft, sich für seine Votes bezahlen zu lassen. Sometimes it's hard to read all posts and some really good ones slip through. I have to admit that I am not always super smart writing mine but since it's social media our interactions also should be fun and thought provoking. Long posts take hours to write but I do. it mostly for my airbnb guests who visit Vienna or other areas like Indonesia, so google always in my mind. I usually try to balance the more valuable ones with the shorter blablah ones.

For me, not comming from the crypto world but from the social media side, at first the goal was to attract people to see my pictures. What's the value of photo's if nobody sees them and why photographing to keep the results somewhere on a harddrive?
Now I have to admit that the upvote part is also fun... it helped me discover the whole new world of cryptocurrencies, a world that I knew exist but I never checked out before. Fascinating...
So, I think there is nothing wrong in your way of working... as long as you stick to the first rule (in my eyes) : post quality content.

We all have different reasons why we are here @pixelfan and I do understand yours. I am enjoying the many up, down and all around rides since day one I am playing in the cryptoworld through steemit. I've seen so many changes that I am still dizzy. Now it's about those paid votes. Every Hardfork there is something else coming up. So, I tested those votes for a while but I don't like it that much because I wish for a human dominated community, not ruled by some bots who even vote for #shitposts and new bots will be developed to follow those bots and so on .....I am here because I enjoy human interaction getting to know incredibly interesting characters. I am here because I am fascinated by the concept of a paid but high quality people platform....it was just a dream.....utopia might exist but where ??

I’m not here for a long time so I’m not aware of the developments since the beginning of this platform. But I do have some experience with social media and “paid” blogging platforms…
It’s my experience that as soon money is involved you will have an increase of #shitposts and #shitusers and… on this platform, bots. All in the hope to gain some easy and quick money. But there is no such thing as easy and quick money, at least not for the majority of users… so they will go away after some time. Of course, they will be replaced by others… who will go away too… and so on, and so on…
But I also do believe that there is a “niche” where users that are interested in real content will stay. Of course those are also interested in the money-part, otherwise they would not be here.(let’s be honest, the interface of steemit right now is not that fabulous 😄)
So, in my opinion, if you carefully select who to follow… your high quality people platform can exist.
