Fish farms in marine waters are blamed for increased pollution and escapes that can harm wild fish populations. They’re also considered an efficient, highly profitable means of producing large numbers of popular fish species, including salmon and tuna.
Interesting article about the possibility of floating fish farms in the Gulf of Mexico and what the effects might be. Like anything else there might be some negatives, but there's a lot of positives to this. For one, it would take the pressure off the wild stock that is being caught right now. I'm for it.
