"Demand is down like 99%." On a normal year, about 5,000 sacks would be sold at the dock in Empire each week, Jurisich said. But only about 500 sacks per week are being sold there now.

Interesting article about what the oyster industry is going through right now. Sad to see, it has been one thing after another for these people. The only good thing is that oyster come back pretty quickly, it doesn't take decades for the next crop to mature.
