I had a kickboxing session with @colossus39 after a long hiatus. My time away from hitting pads really showed.
So much so that I'd forgotten how to punch correctly!
Before my break I was hitting mitts sweetly. Getting my hips into the shots. I was beginning to feel my style developing.
However in my time off, 'hitting things' has been the further thing from my mind. Preferring to spend my time wrestling and play fighting with the kids during the holidays.
It true when they say 'if you don't use it you lose it', I had definitely lost my punch!
In fairness, wearing boxing gloves again felt alien and it will likely take a few sessions to get back in my grove.
@colossus39 didn't let up as we honed in on improving my technique.
I'm looking forward to the next session... hopefully by then I'll be able to punch my way out of a paper bag!!
