I spend so much time at the climbing gym just constantly pulling myself up things, that I often forget that my muscles can be used for pushing (and stabilizing) as well. I used to work a lot on handstand practice, as well as hand-stand pushups. I felt that they really helped me strengthen my core and work on the often neglected opposing muscles. Today is one of the first days of Week #12, and we're about to get into our "Performance Phase". I'm going to try to get strict with my diet in hopes that I an find some dry rock around these parts and haul my heavy ass up to some glory.

This is something that I really need to spend a lot more time on... all the peeps that do ninja comps really do a lot of handstands to try and balance out their shoulders... I just don't really enjoy handstands at all. Not only am I terrible at them, but my head just seems to hate it.

Handstands are definitely a great exercise. Especially when you (or at least when I did) get past the point of always forgetting that you're holding your breath the whole time and your head feels like it's going to explode.
Definitely gotta be careful though. I've seen enough fail-army videos of people falling out of handstands to know that you can smash into something or jigger up a shoulder pretty easily if you're not paying attention or in an enclosed space.

Hahaha, oh yeah... I hold my breath way too much. I realized yesterday that I hold my breath almost the entire time I'm parallel parking... so I'm no hope during handstands.
I was travelling all last week, and then took the weekend off to deal with the literal and non-literal headaches that come from flying for so long and being away... but I'm back at it again.
Got a comp on the 5th of March and I've got to start on my video for Titan Games but I'm away again all weekend and all next week... Booooooo....
